Scott L. Niemi, 46, of Murray, KY, passed away Monday, October 10, 2022, at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY.
Scott was born on June 26,1976, in Glasgow, Scotland. He is survived by his wife, Michele Niemi (nee Krause) of Murray, KY. Father, Lawrence (Helen Roberts) Niemi of Cottage Grove, TN. Two daughters, Kayla Niemi (Isaiah Tucker) of Beach Park, IL, and Nichelle (Javus) Yandal of Elizabethtown, KY. Three bonus children, Joshua Orear of Springfield, IL, Kaitlyn Orear, of Springfield, IL, and Steven Orear of Champaign, IL. Four grandchildren, Noah, Lilah and Inara Tucker and Avery Yandal, nephews Corey Lawrence Marshall and Christopher James Marshall of Galesburg, IL. Uncles Douglas Niemi, Scott (Barb) Niemi, Jon Abba and Darryl Niemi. Aunt Chrissy Alberti of West Allis, WI. Cousins Angie, Ryan, Brooke, Nathan, Traci, Danielle, Ashley, Josh and Rowdy. Good friends, Assunta McClure, her daughters, Roxanne and Yvonne all of Upper Michigan; and his extended family in Scotland, UK which consists of Valerie, Peter and Mark Crone, Craig and Elizabeth Durnin and many others to whom he remained close with after moving back to the United States.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Joan Niemi (Upper Michigan), Henry and Val Durnin (UK, Scotland), mother, Vera Tudruj (nee Durnin), Sister, Joanne Niemi, Infant brother Michael Tudruj, uncles David Niemi and Edward Niemi, and Harry Durnin. Aunts Edith (John) McKenzie, Sylvia Crone, cousins Judith McKenzie, Tracey McKenzie, and cousin DJ Niemi.
Scott spent ten years of his life in Scotland and was extremely proud of his Scottish heritage He loved his children and grandchildren. He was a caring soul, who would often take care of others’ needs before his own. Scott enjoyed spending time with his family and dog Cooper. He also enjoyed DJing at clubs and for special events and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Cremation rites have been accorded. No services are planned at this time. Memorials may be donated to the family’s Go Fund Me page
